Empirical Tableaux
The historical integrity of the shown images, inspired by collected slides and carefully constructed in installations by Schäfer, is created by seemingly amateurish photographic elements – spontaneous, instantaneous and unadorned. It results in an authentication of the picture, in which we are inclined to look out for the inevitable spark of coincidence, and in the subjective perception on the basis of a genuine experience.
